The European Payment Services Directive (PSD2) establishes additional security measures that CaixaBank applies to protect your transactions and access. Therefore, in certain situations, you will need to confirm your identity with an additional step.

Why is verification required when logging into the CaixaBank website or app?

To make sure it's really you, we may ask you to verify your identity using your signature or an SMS code in the following cases:

  • If you log in from a new or unusual device.
  • If you have changed browsers or deleted cookies.
  • If your Internet connection is different or you haven't logged in for a while.

How is your identity confirmed?

To comply with security requirements, you need to log in using two factors:

1. Your personal password.

2. A second factor, which can be:

  • Confirmation from your signing device.
