What do I need to open an account?

To open your online account you will only need:

  • A good internet connection.
  • Your personal details: name, address, tax identification number (NIF), among others.
  • Identity document or passport from your country.
  • You must provide documentation accrediting your economic activity (depending on the country).
    • Documentation required for employment
    • Documentation required for self-employed work

This process is only available to people who do not reside in Spain and who hold nationality and residency in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, or Switzerland. People with Spanish nationality who reside in one of these countries may also apply.

What do I need to do to validate my ID?

You can validate your ID through the video verification:

  • Make sure you are in a well-lit place and have a good Internet connection.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions carefully: Show the front of the document. Tilt and move the document so that the security elements are visible. Show the back of the document. Read aloud the code that appears on the screen. Smile for the camera when instructed.

What should I do if I don't receive the confirmation email?

When you complete the form, we will send you an email detailing the next steps. If more than 48 hours have passed and you haven't received any communication:

  • Please check your spam folder.
  • Write to us at online.registration@caixabank.com to confirm that the email address you provided in the application is correct.

How can I access the CaixaBank website or app?

Once the registration process is complete, you will receive an email with your CaixaBank digital banking login identifier.

To log in, you will need:

  • Identifier: The number that was assigned to you during registration.
  • Password (PIN): The code you set during the registration process.

If you don't remember your password, you can visit any of our branches to set up a new one.
In addition, to be able to confirm transactions from your digital banking, you must activate your digital signature in the CaixaBank app. To do so:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Go to Profile > Security > Signature.
  3. Activate your signature by following the instructions.

Do I need to go to a branch?

Yes, you need to go to a branch in Spain, but you have up to six months to do so after signing the contracts.

During that time, you can use a Restricted Transactions Account, with the following limitations:

  • You won't be able to make international transfers.
  • You can only deposit up to €600 per month using an activator and your PIN.

If you do not present a valid ID or passport at an office within the six-month period:

  • The use of your account will be further restricted.
  • You won't be able to deposit money or receive payments.

If you go to submit the required documentation after that deadline, you can regain full access to all the services of your account.

1. The credit card is issued by the hybrid payment entity CaixaBank Payments & Consumer, E.F.C., E.P., S.A.U. ("CPC"), domiciled at Avenida de Manoteras n.º 20, Edificio París, 28050 Madrid. CaixaBank, S.A. acts as CPC's agent for marketing the card. The system chosen by CPC to protect the funds of payment service users is to deposit them in a separate account opened with CaixaBank, S.A.
The granting of the card is subject to prior approval by CPC, in accordance with its analysis and risk policies.

2. Telephone assistance is managed by Multiasistencia, S.A. and the simultaneous telephone translation service is free and without limits. This service is exclusive to customers with a HolaBank account and who are part of the HolaBank Club.

3. Once you sign the contracts, you will have 6 months to go to a branch in Spain and show a valid identification document or passport.
During that time, you can use a Restricted Transactions Account, with the following limitations:

- You will not be able to carry out international transfers

- You will not be able to deposit more than €600 per month using an activator and PIN.

If you do not submit the documentation within 6 months, the account will have further restrictions imposed and you will not be able to deposit funds or receive payments. But if you go to a branch and present valid documentation at a later date, you will be able to access all the services of your account without restrictions.
